COLORADO VR
Gravity Jack’s intuitive UI/UX designs within the app made it so that users can easily select from up to 15 different locations to explore in high definition 360º video. Once selected, users are immediately transported and immersed into iconic locations such as Red Rocks Amphitheater, Coors Field, and Maroon Bells. With the ability to move their phone in any direction, users are surrounded by the incredible sights and sounds of Colorado.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
360º Video has a host of use cases — especially when paired with virtual reality. To showcase its full potential, Gravity Jack wanted to take a trip to beautiful Colorado and share their experience with everyone by developing a mobile app. To make this happen, they packed tents, sleeping bags, and a series of GoPro cameras and set out for Colorado to capture high definition footage of the state. The trip included stops at Rocky Mountain National Park, Cerebral Brewing, Crested Butte, and 12 other locations across the entire state of Colorado. Once the trip was finished, Gravity Jack packed up their equipment and headed back to headquarters to begin the development process.
Gravity Jack took the footage from each location and stitched all of the different angles together to make one cohesive experience. This allows the user to move in any direction and have the scenery reflect the movement. To take things to the next level, Gravity Jack developed a dual-platform mobile application that featured options to view the locations in virtual reality. Making the experience more accessible, Gravity Jack leveraged the Google Cardboard platform so that the locations can be viewed on VR while using a mobile device. As part of the promotion of Colorado VR, Gravity Jack even designed and printed a series of Google Cardboard headsets that were Colorado VR branded. When complete, Colorado VR showcased just how 360º video has the ability to transport users anywhere at any time.

FINAL DELIVERY

The Goal
Provide potential clients the ability to download an app and see first-hand how 360º video and virtual reality can benefit their business be it real estate or tourism.

Gravity Jack’s Solution
Pack up our bags and take users on a trip with us as we explore the beautiful state of Colorado. With 15 different locations planned, we wanted to capture high definition 360º video using our GoPro rig and stitch the film together for one cohesive experience.

The Result
A mobile application that can be downloaded for iOS and Android. That allows users to select from the 15 locations and choose between seeing 360º footage or enjoying the footage in a VR environment using a Google Cardboard. Users from all over the country were able to see and explore Colorado as if they were actually there!
