Interactive print placemats for select restaurant partners. When scanned, these one-of-a-kind placemats unlock a 3D world of interactive-gaming fun, thanks to four augmented reality (AR) family game experiences.
The newly, famously-merged Kraft Heinz Company came to Gravity Jack, interested in exploring ways that future technologies like augmented reality (AR) could be incorporated into a unique, fun and innovative customer experience. The focus? Visitors to select Kraft Heinz partner restaurants.
Together, Gravity Jack and Kraft Heinz strategized a way to engage families in fun-interactive gaming, while they wait for their meals. We started by designing various, fully-custom print placemats. Once designs were complete, our computer vision team trained the mats to be recognized by mobile devices. When scanned using the accompanying Kraft Heinz Interactive Placemat mobile app, the mats come to life –– unlocking a 3D world that rises from the table.
GAME DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
Each point on the world map unlocks a new game, including an homage to the all-time classic, 'Connect the Dots,' a 'Space Invaders'-like rodeo experience and even the chance to toss Mac & Cheese noodles into boiling pots on a stove, with 'Whack-A-Mole'-like gameplay.
